Samsung TV Repair

Does your Samsung TV have trouble turning on?  Does it make a clicking sound when you push the power button and then nothing else happens?  Samsung TV Repair can save you hundreds of dollars on repairmen or even buying a new TV.

Don’t get me wrong – Samsung makes beautiful lcd TVs.  Some of their new Full LED LCD TVs are absolutely incredible with amazing screens, extremely low power consumption and great contrast ratio and clarity.  I have been very happy with my 42 inch Samsung TV.  However, my tv recently started making a clicking sound when I pushed the power button.  At first it would come on normally but the clicks started lasted longer and longer.  Finally, it never got past the black screen.  I did some research on samsung tv repair and decided to try to fix it myself.

Samsung TV Repair – replace broken capacitors

This clicking problem seems to be fairly common with Samsung LCD TVs.  My guess is that the capacitors that come installed on the power supply board are not powerful enough and eventually burst.  If you take the TV apart and examine the board, you will likely find bulging or leaking capacitors.  The capacitors look like little tubes or barrels.  If you look closely, you should see that the top of some of the capacitors are bulging slightly or may even have burst.  Typically, these Samsung TVs seem to have 4 capacitors that tend to fail.  If you are even a little technically savvy, you can save yourself hundreds of dollars by replacing these faulty capacitors with new ones.  While you’re at it, put in bigger ones than the originals so that they won’t fail again.  All you’ll need is some new capacitors and a soldering iron for your Samsung TV repair.

Samsung TV Repair step by step

You can find these  capacitors at Radio Shack or at any number of online retailers.  Capacitors have different numbers on them that you need to be aware of when ordering a replacement.  First is the voltage – this number is flexible.  The original capacitors in the samsung tv are 10v.  You can replace them with a larger voltage capacitor, such one with a 25v or 30v rating.  The second number is more important.  For your samsung tv repair project, you must replace the existing capacitors with exactly the same micro farad caps…in this case 1000mf.

There are many video tutorials out there that show you how to de-solder the existing capacitors and replace them the new ones. I found this particular video very useful: Samsung TV Repair

Good luck with your Samsung TV Repair.
